Campus Ministers
Franklin Scott
Franklin Scott is our Senior Campus Minister. He has been at UGA since 1990. He is married to Georgia, a math teacher at Performance Learning High School. He has two grown daughters, Shelynn and Stacey. He is a graduate of Francis Marion College and received his Masters of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Franklin currently works with our BCM President, New Dawg and International Student group.
Nathan Byrd
Nathan Byrd is probably on facebook, reading or chatting with collegians! He
arrived at the UGA BCM in 2000 and loves being a
Dawg! He is married to Karen, his high school sweetheart. She teaches 8th grade
Georgia History in Walton County. His greatest joy and blessing is being a dad
to Natalie (now a middle schooler), Nicholas (10), and Karlie (born 2/15/06). He
was an art major at Georgia Southern University and received his Masters of
Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
He is now working on his PhD in adult education at UGA. In his spare time (lol)
he likes to make pottery, cook for his family and friends, ride his road bike,
read (just check out all of the books in his office!), and be creative. Nathan
works with the BCM worship teams, seniors, and alumni. Nathan
also has his own blog at natedawg3.blogspot.com.

Karen Shumaker
Karen Shumaker is in her fourth year as campus minister here at UGA. She is a graduate of University of AR, where she was a nursing major. She went on to graduate from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a masters in religious education. She claims she's an avid Razorback fan, but we will make sure she learns to love the Dawgs as well!! She enjoys cooking, reading, running, hiking, fishing, and watching movies ... and she LOVES Diet Coke. She also works with nursing students at SONAT and loves leading medical mission trips!
Sarah Farley
Sarah Farley is this year’s campus minister intern. She is a graduate of North Georgia College and State University and has a Master’s of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. She is originally from Louisiana, but grew up overseas as a missionary kid. Sarah served at the Georgia Baptist Convention for five years and is really excited to be here at UGA and at Gainesville State. She loves coffee, missions, and dancing! Sarah works with the Fellowship and Communication team and Internationals.
